Born 7th april 1948, lived in Prestonpans East Lothian, went to school in Preston Lodge High School.

Served a very precise engineering apprentiship in Edinburgh 1963 - 1968.

Enlisted in the British Merchant Navy as a Junior Engineer in 1968 left as Chief Engineer in 1974.

During this time i've been privileged to see scenery all over this world.

While rebuilding the ITN building in London I had an accident which meant engineering could no longer be my profession.

Painting was something I craved for so it was now my future. I attended various art and design colleges - Telford, Falmouth, Edinburgh.- I find each subject requires differing medias to add the artists view, obviously in some cases different genres.

Description of my work and techniques varies, which I welcome, contemporary, realistic, naturalistic, indeed the viewer can describe any artwork using their own terms and I hope they do.
